Wilma I. McWhorter, age 93, of Brookville, Indiana died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville.

Born April 24, 1923 in Franklin County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late John & Gladys (Lynn) Glaub.  On December 23, 1939 she became the wife of Clayton McWhorter, and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1995.

A homemaker, she had also worked for several years in the cafeteria at the Brookville Elementary School.  She was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star #449 of Brookville.

Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Donna (Bill) Gulley of Everton, Indiana and Linda (Steve) Miller of Brookville, Indiana; a son, Dennis McWhorter of Daytona Beach, Florida; son-in-law, Don Benjamin of Connersville, Indiana a brother, John N. Glaub of Connersville, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as a dear friend Robert Metcalf of Brookville.

In addition to her husband & parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Benjamin; one sister and five brothers.

Family & friends may visit from 5 till 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville.

Rev Curtis Bond, pastor of the Brookville United Methodist Church, will officiate the funeral services at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
