Uvon Howard Thies, age 87, of Brookville, Indiana died Tuesday evening, June 11, 2019 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville.

Born July 1, 1931 in Batesville, Indiana he was the son of the late Ivan & Elsie (Drake) Thies. He was United States Navy Veteran of the Korean conflict.

He was a member of the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion in Brookville.

Survivors include step-daughters, Emily Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee, Elizabeth (Jim) Carley of Brookville, Indiana, Beverly (Larry) Spangler & Cheryl Payne all of Fayetteville, West Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Martin, and a brother, Estil L. Thies; as well as his wives, Pauline Thies who died March 31, 1997, and Jacqueline Jo Payne who died April 14, 2007.

Private Services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial with Full Military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion was held in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
