Ruth McDaniel, age 94, of Metamora, Indiana died Sunday night, December 6, 2015 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville, Indiana.
Born May 25, 1921 in Owsley County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Stephen & Allie (Caudill) Gumm. She was united in marriage to John McDaniel and he precedes her in death.
A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and working outside in her garden. She was also a good cook and was well known for her biscuits & gravy and cobblers.
Survivors include 7 daughters, Rosemary Kinnett of Lake Santee, Indiana, Hazel Mae Gillam of Batesville, Indiana, Charlotte Moore of Rushville, Indiana, Donna Miller of Metamora, Indiana, Gloria Comer of Rushville, Indiana, Sharon Collins of Batesville, Indiana and Patricia Vogel of Rushville, Indiana; three sons, Robert McDaniel of Metamora, Indiana; Jack McDaniel of North Webster, Indiana and Paul McDaniel of Boonville, Kentucky; 31 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Imogene Cummins and Esther McDaniel, a son, Wendell McDaniel, three brothers and four sisters.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Rob Edwards will officiate the Funeral Services on Friday, December 11, 2015, 12:00 Noon, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Cupps Chapel Cemetery in Metamora, Indiana.
