Rodney Charles Reuss, age 69, of Brookville, Indiana died Friday, April 13, 2018, after a long illness; lasting many years.
Born December 22, 1948 in Batesville, Indiana to the late Charles Robert & Mildred Marie (neé Mullins) Reuss. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage in 1971 to Catherine Blair, and she survives.
Rodney was a member of the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion, where he served on the Firing Squad; the Wilbur Dennison Post #2014 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1129 of Brookville; he was also a former member of the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department.
Besides Cathy, his dedicated wife of over 46 years, survivors include a daughter & son-in-law, Jessica & Joshua Roop of Noblesville, Indiana; a son, Adam Charles Reuss (fiancé, Candace Shepherd) of Broad Ripple, Indiana; a granddaughter, Margaret Roop;
two sisters, Barbara Monroe and Judy Monroe of Brookville, Indiana, two brothers, Teddy Reuss and Roger Reuss of Brookville, Indiana; and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.
The Very Rev. Sean R. Danda will officiate the Funeral Liturgy on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, 1:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial with full military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
