Robert Lee Watson Jr., age 71, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday, July 15, 2018 at his residence in Brookville.

Born March 21, 1947 in Knoxville, Tennessee he was the oldest of eight children born to the late Robert Lee Sr. & Minnie A. (Summey) Watson.  On August 15, 1965 he and the former Frances Schmid were united in marriage, and she survives.

He was retired from Roots Blower in Connersville where he had worked as a machinist for many years.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1129 of Brookville.  In his leisure time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Besides Frannie, his loving wife of nearly 53 years, survivors include two sons & daughters-in-law, Tracey (Pam) Schmid of Brookville, Indiana and Tim (Sharon) Watson of New Hill, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Travis Schmid, Kristin Wilkerson, Christopher Wilkerson; two sisters, Judy A. Defossett of Cedar Grove, Indiana and Kathleen McCreadie of Harrison, Ohio; three brothers, Kenneth Watson of Florida, Loren Watson and Charles Watson both of New Castle, Indiana.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula J. Anderson as well as a brother, Johnny Watson.

Family & friends may visit from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
