Rita M. Callahan, age 89, of St. Leon, Indiana died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Born April 6, 1927 in Franklin County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late William A. & Matilda S. (Weber) Harter.  She was retired from Sperry Rubber & Plastics in Brookville where she had worked for many years.

On June 12, 1992 she was united in marriage to Dennis Callahan, and he survives.  She was a former member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Brookville.

Besides her husband, Dennis, survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Judy Geiling of Brookville, Indiana; two step-sons, Todd Callahan of Osgood, Indiana and Steve (Angie) Callahan of Bright, Indiana; two step-daughters, Denise (Gerald) Barorst of Edinburgh, Indiana and Brenda Williams of Sunman, Indiana; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 8 step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David H. Geiling who died 1/10/2013, a sister, Norma C. Blaes and a brother William "Bill" Harter.

Family & friends may visit from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.  Burial will then follow in St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.
