Phyllis Ann
Bischoff
Mar 1, 1931 — Dec 1, 2023
Cedar Grove
Phyllis Ann Bischoff, age 92, of Cedar Grove, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on Friday, December 1, 2023, following a brief illness.
Born March 1, 1931 in Palestine, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Elsie Catherine (Stenger) Geiling. She was united in marriage to Leroy Bischoff and he preceded her in death.
Phyllis was retired, having been a cashier for many years at the former Rosenberger's Market and later Brookville IGA.
She was a member of the former Holy Guardian Angels Parish in Cedar Grove, and a current member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Brookville, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Brookville.
In her leisure time she enjoyed watching her favorite team, the Cincinnati Reds; and playing cards, with Euchre being her favorite game. She was known to be a fierce competitor, and took her card playing very seriously! The most important thing to her in life was her family, her children and grandchildren. Her sense of humor was appreciated by all who knew her and even those who had just a brief encounter.
Survivors include seven daughters, Linda Girty, Cathy Graf, Pam McMillin, Cindy (Don) Westerfeld, Nancy (Kevin) Busse, Sharon (John Huffman) Cumberworth, Lisa Wilson; four sons, Leroy (Monica) Bischoff, Steve (Cheryl) Bischoff, Ken (Connie) Bischoff, Paul Bischoff; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Bischoff; two sisters, Doris Bischoff and Shirley Lynch; and a brother, Richard (Sue) Geiling; a sister-in-law, Betty Bischoff as well as 31 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rick G. Bischoff, sons-in-law, Ray Redelman, Lee Graf, Rick McMillin, Paul Girty; daughter-in-law, Jackie Bischoff; two sisters, Rosemary Singer, Lucille Rubush; four brothers, Herbert Geiling, Dale Geiling, Nick Geiling, and Arthur Geiling.
