Rev. Omer L. McAllister, age 68, of Connersville, Indiana died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.

Born June 14, 1948 in Batesville, Indiana he was the son of the late James & Hazel J. (Purvis) McAllister.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

On June 6, 1970 he was united in marriage to the former Linda L. Stenger and she preceded him in death on August 13, 2002.  He was employed at Sperry Rubber & Plastics in Brookville for many years, and then became an Evangelist.  He enjoyed singing, preaching, and spending time with his children & grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Wolfe and Rebecca Tincher both of Connersville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Ryan Wolfe, Nathan (Anna) Wolfe, Candace (Brandon) Tincher-Jones; one great grandchild, Brendalyn Jones; three sisters, Janet Grimm of Wilmington, Ohio, Shirley Richards of Brookville, Indiana and Justina Duvall of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother, Kenneth McAllister of Rising Sun, Indiana; a half-brother, James Hansmann of Rising Sun, Indiana and a half-sister, Virginia Offner of Palm Bay, Florida and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, and wife Linda, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Blooming Grove Family Worship Church, 15001 Stone Church Road, Brookville, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Blooming Grove Family Worship Church.  Burial with full military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
