Melody Ann Jackson, age 60, of New Fairfield, passed into eternity on December 18, 2015 at her home, losing a four year battle with bone cancer.
Born August 29, 1955 in Batesville, Indiana she was the daughter of Loren Dale & Ruby (Woliung) Beckman. She was raised in the Klemme's Corner community and remained a lifelong resident of Franklin County. She was a graduate of the former Brookville High School with the class of 1973.
On May 29, 1983 she was united in marriage to Lindsay Jackson, and he survives. She worked for the Franklin County Clerks office at the Government Center for 27 years before retiring, then briefly worked for the law office of Wilhelm-Waggoner & Bundy until her illness prevented her from working.
Melody was a member of the First Christian Church in Oxford, Ohio. In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially shopping with her daughter, collecting antiques, and reading.
Besides Lindsay, her husband of over 32 years, survivors include a daughter & son-in-law, Kelsey (Bryson) Feese of Hobart, Indiana, a son, Aaron Jackson of Brookville, Indiana; her mother, Ruby Beckman of Brookville, Indiana, a twin-sister, Michele Whitacre of Versailles, Indiana, and sisters Kim Beckman and husband Tom Vohland, Linda (Jerry) Vaughan all of Brookville, Indiana; as well as nine nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Loren Dale Beckman who died April 21, 2001.
Family & friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave, Brookville.
John Witt of the First Christian Church of Oxford will officiate the Funeral Services on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, 10:00 A.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville. Burial will then follow in Sims Cemetery in New Fairfield, Indiana.
