Mary Ellen Rigsby "Miss Mary" age 64, of Hagerstown, Indiana died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.

Born September 27, 1954 in Wayne County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Max Wilburn & Geraldine Marie (Muddell) Swafford.  She was a graduate of the first class of Union County High School; and was a graduate of Ball State University. On June 17, 1989 she became the wife of Raymond H. Rigsby and he survives.

She was employed as a Librarian at Union County Public Library in Liberty, Indiana and had also been a teacher for many years at St. Michael Catholic School in Brookville. She had a love of reading and books; and took great joy in helping others.

Survivors include her husband of over 29 years, Ray Rigsby; three brothers, Ed (Luann) Swafford of Liberty, Indiana, John (Peggy) Swafford of Hamilton, Ohio, and Max (Jody) Swafford of Liberty, Indiana; her mother & father-in-law, John & Peggy Rigsby of Richmond, Indiana.

Family & friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church, 4 West Seminary Street, Liberty, Indiana.

Pastor Scott Bell will officiate the Memorial Services at 5:00 P.M., at Edwards United Methodist Church in Liberty.
