Mary Frances Meier Clarkson, age 89, of Brookville, Indiana died Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Brookville.
Born August 12, 1927 in Franklin County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. & Mary Adeline (Spaeth) Niedenthal. She was united in marriage to Louis J. Meier on November 24, 1949, and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1975; she later married Austin P. Clarkson on October 3, 1978 and he preceded her in death in May 1996.
A homemaker, she was a lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Brookville. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella St. Catherine Circle #103, for over 60 years where she was a Past Regent. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards at the Franklin County Senior Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Beth (Pat) Baird and Catherine A. Meier both of Brookville, Indiana; a son & daughter-in-law, Joseph A. & Sharon Meier of Brookville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Betsy Vonderheide, Adam (Lisa) Meier, Brooke (Andy) Murphy, Tyler (Brittany) Meier and Logan Meier; six great-grandchildren, Joann, Joey and Austin Meier; Kerrigan & Drew Murphy, and Mia Meier
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas J. Meier; as well as a granddaughter, Megan Vonderheide.
Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville, where the rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M..
The Very Rev. Sean R. Danda, will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 10:00 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 East St. Michaels Blvd., Brookville. Burial will then follow in St. Michaels Cemetery in Brookville.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Michael's Church or the Megan Vonderheide Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Union County Community Foundation.
