John Roberts Sr, age 77, of Metamora, Indiana died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville, Indiana.

Born August 8, 1939 in Franklin County, Indiana he was the son of the late Neal & Mabel (Hughes) Roberts.  On December 23, 1957 he was united in marriage to Rachel Josephine Russell, and she preceded him in death on October 2, 2011.

Before his sickness he enjoyed the outdoors, coon hunting and fishing.

Survivors include five children, Leroy (Bonnie) Roberts of Laurel, Indiana, John Jr. (Donna) Roberts, Anita (Jimmy) Wells, Tim (Carol) Roberts and Lonnie (Kami) Roberts all of Metamora, Indiana; four sisters; Dorothy McDaniel, Betty Thomas, Nancy (Walter) Mullins all of Metamora, Indiana; Margaret (Lowell) Creech of Greensburg, Indiana; five brothers, Rufus Roberts of Metamora, Indiana, Claude Roberts, Marvin (Juanita) Roberts and Daniel (Kathy) Roberts all of Laurel, Indiana, David (Hazel) Roberts of Batesville, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

Besides his parents and wife Josephine, he was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Thomas; a brother, Paul Roberts; a granddaughter, Lydia Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Anthony Roberts and Baby Wilson.

Family & friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday July 9, 2017 at Trinity Full Gospel Church, 20015 Haytown Road, Metamora, Indiana.

Merle Seeley and Jim Wells will officiate the Funeral Services on Monday, July 10, 2017, 10:00 A.M., at Trinity Full Gospel Holiness Church in Metamora.  Burial will then follow in Cupps Chapel Cemetery in Metamora, Indiana.
