Jerry Lee Angel, age 70, of Laurel, Indiana died unexpectedly Thursday, August 22, 2024 at his residence in Laurel.

Born September 8, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio he was the son of the late Floyd & Wanda (Buis) Angel.  On December 20, 1975 he was united in marriage to Mary Anne Chambers, and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2014.

Jerry was retired from Formica Corporation in Cincinnati where he had worked for many years, in addition to farming in Franklin County.  In his leisure time he looked forward to deer hunting each year with his brother-in-law, James English; fishing, and taking care of his farm and cattle.

Survivors include three children, Melissa (Shane) Scalf of Metamora, Indiana, Jeremy (Tabby) Angel of Metamora, Indiana and Scott (Lajuana) Angel of Laurel, Indiana and a bonus son, Johnny Burns; one sister, Brenda English of Cincinnati; ten grandchildren, Talor (Jeremy) Reeder, Morgan (Brayden) Priest, Logan (Megan) Angel, Dawson Angel, Shane Scalf Jr., Lily Angel, Gracie Angel, Breanna Scalf, Maddie Burns, Leon Burns; two great-grandchildren, Aubree Reeder & Bennett Reeder.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Angel; a granddaughter, Lily Angel; and a brother-in-law, James English.

Family & friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Justin Leising will officiate the Funeral Service at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.  Graveside Services will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, 12:00 Noon at Crown Hill Memorial Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.
