James E. Griffin, age 64, of Brookville, Indiana died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his residence in Brookville.

Born September 18, 1953 in Rushville, Indiana he was the son of the late Henry Griffin & Ruby (Byrd) Garland.  On October 1, 1982 he and the former Donna Johnson were united in marriage, and she survives.

James was retired, having been a heavy equipment operator for many years.  In his leisure time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides Donna, his loving wife of over 35 years, survivors include a daughter, Brandy Gravitt of Hamilton, Ohio; five step-sons, Timothy Perry of Hamilton, Ohio, Anthony Perry of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Chad Perry of Lebanon, Ohio, Nick Perry of Brookville, Indiana and Victor Perry of Batesville, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters Nina Hubbard of Hamilton, Ohio and Pat Lockhart of West Harrison, Indiana; two brothers, Robert Downard of Hamilton, Ohio and Mack Garland of Greensburg, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
