James D. Frederick Jr., age 67, of Blooming Grove, died Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, following a brief illness.

Born September 11, 1959 in Connersville, Indiana he was the son of the late James D. Frederick Sr. & June Ann (Laughlin) Corum. On July 5, 1995 he and the former Jama Gilbert were united in marriage and she survives.

Jim was retired, having worked for many years in a factory. In his leisure time he enjoyed metal fabrication, and working on automobiles.

He was a member of the Metamora Church of Christ.

Besides Jama, his loving wife of over 31 years; survivors include two daughters, Amanda (Mark) Anderson of Cambridge City, Indiana and Amy (Kevin Kirschbaum) Shearer of Shelbyville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Alivia Anderson, Lexie Anderson, Adrianna Shearer, McKenzie Shearer with a great-grandson on the way in November; his sister-in-law, Lennie Norris of Brookville; as well as his step-father, Lloyd Corum of Connersville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Patricia Frederick; and a brother John Frederick.

Family and friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Phillips and Myers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Pastor Wayne Ison will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Phillips and Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sims Cemetery.
