Obituary

Jack L. Robinson, age 87, of Mt. Carmel, Indiana died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living in Finneytown, Ohio. Born May 23, 1928 in Milan, Indiana he was the son of the late Lee & Stella (Hartemiller) Robinson. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as an Ambulance Driver. On June 27, 1948 he was united in marriage to Lula D. Stall, and she preceded him in death on June 23, 1996. He later married Edna F. Heck on August 16, 1997, and she survives. He was retired and had worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter and builder. Jack was a member of Joy Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion in Brookville. He was also a former Board Member of the Franklin County Area Planning Commission for many years. Besides his wife Edna, survivors include two daughters, Dianna S. Williams of Hope, Indiana and Jacqueline L. Hiler of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Sheila A. (Oetzel) Stambaugh, Shannon L. (Oetzel) Gray, Jonathan I. Hiler; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Powers, Logan Orozco, Gabriel Kleinhenz, Alana (Hiler) Morse, Lillian W. Gray; as well as one sister, Helen Robbins of Aurora, Indiana. In addition to his parents and first wife, Lula, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth McEntire and Annette Robinson; a brother, Paul, Robinson, and a grandson David E. Hiler. Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home. Burial with Full Military Graveside Honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will then follow in Gibson Cemetery in Bright, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer s Association.
