Goldie M. Bennett Slaven, age 91, of Brookville, Indiana died Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville.
Born May 10, 1927 in Connersville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late James & Susan (Rowland) Wyatt. On August 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Samuel E. Bennett, and he preceded her in death on February 29, 1992; she later married Rev. Clarence Slaven on February 27, 1999, and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2004.
Goldie was a woman of deep religious faith, and she enjoyed attending various churches throughout her life. She was a former member of the Metamora Valley Belles Home Economics club. Her greatest joys in life were her faith & family.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy (John) Conn of Metamora, Indiana and Patty (Rob) Siedling of Metamora, Indiana; three sons & daughters-in-law, Douglas (Joyce) Bennett of Brookville, Indiana, Donald (Debbie) Bennett of Rising Sun, Indiana and David (Susan) Bennett of Brookville, Indiana; a sister, Kathleen Kitchen of Hereford, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Elva, Latonia, Cora Dell, Rosella, and Tootsie; seven brothers, Bruce, Charlie, Rufus, Homer, Wilbur, Russell, and Herman Duke Wyatt.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Metamora Church of God, 20152 U.S. 52, Laurel, Indiana.
Rev. Wayne Ison & Br. Rob Siedling will officiate the Funeral Services at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Metamora Church of God, with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
