Gertie Lee Foreman, age 78, of Rushville, Indiana and a former longtime resident of Laurel, Indiana died Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her residence in Rushville, Indiana.

Born April 16, 1939 in Kingsport, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late John W. & Gladys M. (Hite) Propes.  On April 16, 1972 she married the love of her life of 42 years, Roland C. Foreman, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2014.

Mrs. Foreman was retired from the former Ford Electronics in Connersville, Indiana where she had worked for 27 years.  She attended First Baptist Church of Laurel.  In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, but her greatest joy in life was her family.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, Edward (Carolyn) Hahn of Shelbyville, Indiana; four daughters, Brenda (Brent) Jones of Carmel, Indiana, Charlene Samberg of Rushville, Indiana,  Darlene Waekle of Rushville, Indiana, Cindy (Jerry) Becker of Seattle, Washington; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; two sisters, Charlene Williamson of Tampa, Florida and Linda Pettigrew of Muncie, Indiana; two brothers, Lester Propes of Cincinnati, Ohio and John Propes of Tampa, Florida.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five siblings.

Pastor John Jordan of the Laurel First Baptist Church will officiate the Funeral Services on Monday, May 8, 2017, 1:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.  Burial will follow in Laurel North Cemetery in Laurel, Indiana.
