Freddy Ray Marshall, age 51, of Columbus, Ohio, died Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.

Born May 12, 1975 in Batesville, Indiana, he was the oldest of two children born to Fred Jr. & Patricia Ann (Herd) Marshall. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School with the class of 1993.

Freddy worked for many years in the hospitality industry. In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family & friends, music and theater, and most of all making others laugh! Freddy brought energy to every gathering and made everyone feel like a friend.

Survivors include his life partner of over 11 years, Hector Valdez Jr; his father, Fred Marshall Jr., of Connersville, Indiana; a sister, Eulah (Brad) Vest of Brookville, Indiana; his niece & nephew Ivie (Matthew) Baker & Gabe Vest; a great niece & nephew, as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death his grandparents, Fred & Mazie Marshall and Roscoe & Eulah Herd; as well as his mother, Patricia Ann Marshall who died February 19, 2023.

Family & friends may visit from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville.

Pastor Jerry Barnhart will officiate the Memorial Service on Saturday, August 22, 2026, 3:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
