Francis J. Frey, age 93, of Cedar Grove, Indiana died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his residence in Cedar Grove, surrounded by family.

Born December 22, 1925 on the family farm in Cedar Grove, he was one of seven children born to the late Frank & Carrie (Metzler) Frey.  On May 30, 1952 he was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Roell, and she survives.

He was a lifelong member of the former Holy Guardian Angels Parish in Cedar Grove, and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Brookville.  He farmed in Cedar Grove on the family farm all his life; in his later years he still enjoyed mowing grass, taking care of his property and helping around the farm. Also, in his later years, he enjoyed several trips traveling the United States with his wife. He was very devoted to his faith, wife and family.

Survivors include Dorothy, his loving wife of 67 years, seven children, Kathleen (James) Burns of Burr Ridge, Illinois, Annette (Mark) Rosswurm of Columbus, Indiana, Frank Frey of Cedar Grove, Indiana, Karen (Bill) Carlson of Olney, Maryland, Victor (Geri) Frey of Brookville, Indiana, Joseph Frey of Cedar Grove, Indiana and Michael (Debbie) Frey of Kokomo, Indiana; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth Lecher, Jacob Rosswurm, Erin Walsh, Paul Rosswurm, Stephen Carlson, Kristen Carlson, Taylor Frey and Austin Frey; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Doerflein of Harrison, Ohio; three brothers, Ralph (Rosemary) Frey of Cedar Grove, Indiana, Carl (Coralee) Frey of Cedar Grove, Indiana, Donald (Julia) Frey of Cedar Grove, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rose Frey; a sister, Rosemary Harrison, as well as an infant sister.

Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M.

Rev. Vincent Lampert will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, 10:30 A.M. at Holy Guardian Angel Oratory, 405 U.S. Highway 52, Cedar Grove, Indiana.  Burial will follow in Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery in Cedar Grove.
