Floyd Charles Miller, Jr, age 69, of Sunman and long-time resident of Brookville, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 17, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. Floyd was born April 22, 1946 in Hamilton, Ohio to parents Floyd and Hazel Miller. He graduated from Whitewater High School in 1964 and attended Ball State University where he earned a Bachelor of Education degree in 1968 and a Master s Degree in Education in 1970. On August 17, 1968 Floyd was united in marriage to Kathy Ann Allen in Miamitown, Ohio. Floyd spent 44 years teaching mathematics at various schools throughout his career; (Laurel High School (1968-1972), William Henry High School (1973-2007), and retiring from Ivy Tech Community College in 2014. He also received various merit awards and most recently was awarded the 2015 Indiana Association for Developmental Education for Outstanding Service to his Ivy Tech students. He was also a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Besides Kathy, his loving wife of more than 46 years; survivors include three children, Phillip (Misty) Miller of Connersville, IN; Matt (Jayme) Miller of West Harrison, IN; and Lindsay (Drew) Schultz of Guilford, IN; three grandchildren, Tanner Miller, Kylie Miller, and Addalynn Schultz; and a sister Lee (Miller) Gabbard of Bowling Green, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Louise and Melva, and an infant son Brian Charles Miller. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in Venice Cemetery in Ross, Ohio.
