Florence Jane Banks, age 83, of Brookville, Indiana died early Sunday morning December 15, 2024 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.

Born December 26, 1940 in Union County, Indiana she was one of two daughters born to the late Silas & Addie (Marcum) Gilbert.  On February 26, 1966 she became the wife of Thomas Morton 'Tommy' Banks, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1973.

A homemaker, she had been a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brookville.

Survivors include her sister, Margaret (Robert) Hertel of Centerville, Indiana; three nieces, Lisa Hertel of Hagerstown, Indiana, Becky Porter of Connersville, Indiana and Robin Ritchie of Richmond, Indiana; three great nieces, two great nephews, as well as two great-great nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband Tommy, she was preceded in death by a niece Melinda Buckler who died in 2006.

Family & friends may visit from 1 until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Pastor Kevin Waltz of Emmanuel Baptist Church will officiate the Funeral Service on Friday, December 20, 2024, 2:00 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville.   Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana.
