Eleanor M. (Johnnye) Otto, age 95, of Bath, Indiana passed away early Saturday morning, January 11, 2025 at Woodland Country Manor in Somerville, Ohio.
Born July 19, 1929 in Collinsville, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Norman & Melverna (Meeks) Johnson. She was a graduate of McGuffey High School in Oxford, Ohio, and went on to graduate from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She later earned her Masters degree from Ball State University.
She was united in marriage to Merle E. 'Bud' Otto on October 26, 1951, and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2006.
Mrs. Otto taught High School Home Economics for over 40 years, beginning at Centerburg, Ohio; Reily Ohio; and Brookville High School and its successor, Franklin County High School in Brookville, Indiana.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, music, traveling, collecting and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Boyd Joseph (Marjorie) Otto and Glen J. Otto, all of Bath, Indiana; three grandchildren, Scott (Ashley) Otto of Liberty, Indiana, Bradley (Meghan) Otto of Boonsboro, Maryland and Sara Otto; five great-grandchildren, Aiden Otto, Alaina Otto, Joey Otto, Quinn Otto and Leo Otto; as well as several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bud, she was preceded in death by two sisters Myla Jackson and Alice Frazer.
Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family with burial at Harmony Cemetery in Bath, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Union County Community Foundation or the Franklin County Community Foundation.
