David Wright Tarter, age 80, of Richmond, Indiana and formerly of Brookville, Indiana died Tuesday morning July 23, 2019 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.

Born November 13, 1938 in Casey County, Kentucky he was the son of the late Lesley & Roxie (Roy) Tarter. On October 1, 1978 in Brookville, Indiana he was united in marriage to the former Lawana Joanne Puccini, and she survives.

Besides Lawana, his wife of nearly 41 years, survivors include two daughters, Kathy (Frank) Ward of Richmond, Indiana and Betsy (Tyson) Chastain of Knoxville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as a half-sister Judy (David) Bastin of Danville, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Hardt.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery in Cedar Grove, Indiana.
