Charles L. "Whitey" Smith, age 74, of Brookville, Indiana died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville.

Born September 24, 1942 in Hamilton, Ohio he was the son of the late Henry X. & Mamie Lucinda (White) Smith.  He was a farm hand and had farmed for much of his life.

Survivors include a daughter, Lucinda Fecher of Lucasville, Ohio; two sons, Bryan Smith and Rodney Smith both of North Platt, Nebraska; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Elizabeth Couch of Hazard, Kentucky; two brothers, Thomas Smith of Metamora, Indiana and James Smith of Brookville, Indiana; as well as several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers & sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Buena Vista Church.
