Charles W. (Charlie) Raible, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2026.

Charlie was born on May 6, 1936, to Louise (nee Wingerter) and Charles Raible. On June 27, 1959, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Raible, and together they shared 64 years of marriage before her passing in August 2023.

Charlie is survived by his sister, Verna Kopp; his four children, Denise Raible, Todd (Neysa) Raible, Rick (Vickie) Raible, and Brian Raible; his grandchildren, Bethany (Joe) Bolser, Kyle (Meg) Harmon, Breanna (Drew) Foster, Cory (Chloe) Harmon, Allison (Brett) Ortman, Bridget (Tim) Henry, Ashlie (Gino) Francesconi, and Hadyn and Paxton Raible; 16 great-grandchildren, with his 17th great-grandbaby due in November; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his sisters, Marilyn Beetz and Marjorie Helcher; and his great-granddaughter, Abigail Ortman.

Charlie proudly served his country as an active Army soldier from 1960 to 1962 and continued his service for four years in the Army Reserve. He spent his career as a brick mason, but he was a farmer at heart.

In 1965, Charlie bought the farm where his children would grow up and where he would later pass away. He loved his farm dearly and was so generous to others with the resources it provided. He especially loved his cattle and could often be found tending to his berry plants, fruit trees, and garden.

He was always bringing home different types of poultry and enjoyed having hunting dogs over the years. In his later years, his black lab became a faithful companion by his side.

Charlie continued tending to his land until the very last month of his life. His grandchildren have fond memories of going with him to check on the cows, feed the fish in his pond, 4th of July festivities, and even a fishing trip to Canada at the age of 80! But perhaps what they remember most was the way he loved his great-grandchildren. He adored them and watching him with them was something his family will always treasure.

Charlie leaves behind a family who will miss him deeply. His love for his family, his farm, and the life he built there will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many memories made together on the piece of land he loved so much.

Family & friends may visit from 4 till 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

A Celebration of Life service will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.
