Betty Faye Hofer, age 87, of Brookville, Indiana died Monday, October 1, 2018 at Harrison Terrace Nursing Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born September 21, 1931 in Roxana, Kentucky she was one of ten children born to the late Coolie Calihan Sr. & Versie (Lewis) Calihan.  On June 6, 1953 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Hofer, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2017.

Betty was retired, having worked for many years at the former Franklin Casket Company in Brookville.  Her family and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life.

Survivors include two sons, Robin (Penny) Hofer and Randy Hofer of Brookville, Indiana; six grandsons, Dustin Hofer, Brett (Amber) Hofer, Derek (Brandi) Hofer, Brooks Hofer, Cameron (Savannah) Hofer, Logan Hofer; six great-grandchildren, Graham Hofer, Emilia Hofer, Hudson Hofer, Dawson Hofer, Eloise Hofer, and Paisley Hofer; two sisters; Sadie Wells of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Brenda Ross of Cedar Grove, Indiana; two brothers, Odell Calihan of Everton, Indiana and Joe Calihan of Blooming Grove, Indiana.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Hofer; three sisters, Dolores Fields, Freda Smith, Pat Mays; two brothers Stanley Calihan and Coolie Calihan Jr.

Family & friends may visit from 9:00 A.M. till 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home.  Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
