Bernard Byrd Jr., age 50, died suddenly, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Connersville, Indiana. Born March 3, 1965 in Connersville, Indiana, he was the son of Bernard Sr. & Lola (Moore) Byrd. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and being outdoors. He also enjoyed racing and sports and was an avid University of Kentucky fan. Besides his parents, Bernard Sr. & Lola Byrd, survivors include three children, Stephanie Nicole Haney of Huber Heights, Ohio, Lincoln Adam Byrd of Connersville, Indiana, and Savannah Marie (Devin) Tomlin of Connersville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Ayden Michael Haney, Chloe Ariana Lee Haney, Gavin Michael Lee Tomlin; a brother, William Wayne (Sherry) Byrd of Brookville, Indiana; Bernard's companion of many years, Debbie French; a niece, Alexis Byrd as well as a nephew, Brooks Dobbs. Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville. Chuck Gerrian will officiate the Funeral Services on Friday, November 6, 2015, 1:30 P.M., at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville. Burial will then follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
