Helen M. Pelsor

U.S. Veteran

Helen M. Pelsor, age 93, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.

Born December 6, 1918 in Brookville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Anthony W. & Mary E. (Ritzi) Bruns. She was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy WAVES. On April 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to Raymond M. Pelsor, and he preceded her in death.

Helen was a retired legal secretary, having worked for the law offices of Albert Peine, McCarty & O’Connor, O’Connor, Stewart, Smith & Douglas and Mullin McMillin & Rychener. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Brookville and was the oldest living member of the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion in Brookville.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy M. (Harold) Klein of Centerville, Indiana, Marjorie A. (Joe) Otto of Bath, Indiana; two sons and daughters-in-law, August J. (Robin) Pelsor and Bayard W. (Pauletta) Pelsor both of Sunman, Indiana; eight grandchildren as well as four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Elmer & Earl Bruns, and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Joy Klein.

Rev. Sean Danda, pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 25, 2012, 11:00 A.M., at St. Michael’s Church, 145 East St. Michael’s Blvd., Brookville. Burial with full Military Graveside Honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Family & friends may visit from 6 till 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Franklin County E.M.S. or the Brookville Public Library.
